| Claremont House is in an ideal location from which to explore the delights of Keswick and Derwentwater. The town centre is within walking distance, where you will find a variety of shops, pubs and restaurants, museums, a cinema and the very popular Theatre by the Lake. There is also a range of attractions, sporting and leisure activities for all ages. One of the Lake District's finest golf courses is close by, at Threlkeld. |
The rest of the Lake District is easily explored from here. Grasmere can be reached in 15 minutes. A few minutes further afield are Ambleside and Windermere. Also with easy reach are the delights of the peaceful Eden Valley, Hadrian's Wall and the Scottish Borders. Historic Carlisle, the great border city, is only 40 minutes drive away. You don't have to go out in your car to see the wonderful views. There are many walks that can be done from our front door - Walla Crag being a favourite:- |
